He then meets with a mysterious monk named Dakuan, who helps Jubei and Kagero in their quest to defeat the Eight Devils of Kimon. Jubei survives his ordeal as Benisato sheds her cast off skin and escapes. Later, Jubei is poisoned by a shuriken that hits his shoulder when he is attacked by Benisato, a snake demon. Later, as Jubei and Kagero get together, they have some trust issues, and are not exactly on good terms with each other for their own personal reasons. It is later revealed that Jubei was able to defeat Tessai because Tessai had been poisoned earlier when he kissed Kagero during the attempted rape.
Tessai succeeds in ambushing Jubei but is killed. After being rescued by Jubei, Kagero escapes to continue her mission, while Tessai vengefully pursues Jubei (as Jubei had blinded him in one eye when he rescued Kagero). But it quickly escalates into a heated clash between the two. She is captured by the attacker, and is brought back to his house.Īs Tessai proceeds to sexually assault Kagero, Jubei appears out of nowhere, asking for directions. But in the midst of their expedition, the entire team is ruthlessly slaughtered by Tessai, one of the “Eight Devils of Kimon”, and Kagero is the only survivor if her group. But before they are dispatched, a woman named Kagero, whose main job is food tasting, insists that she joins the koga ninja team in their investigation.
Later that night, the Mochizuki clan's team of koga ninjas, led by Hanza, make preparations to investigate the mystery concerning the epidemic.
Little did the villagers know that the dead woman was being manipulated by one of the villains of the film. A dying woman journeys her way to a populated village uncontaminated by the plague, and in her last words, she says that “A great evil force is coming.” before she finally collapses and drops to the ground dead. Several years later, the story cuts to a village which is plagued by an epidemic that has killed all of its inhabitants. But Jubei beats them senseless, and continues his journey. As he crosses a bridge in the film's opening scene, he is confronted by a clan of rival ninjas who want to collect a bounty placed on his head. Synopsis: Taking place in the feudal era of Japan's middle ages, the story centers around Jubei Kibagami, a wandering vagabond ninja warrior who is constantly drifting around the country.
